HPE Tech Talk: Joint Warfare Lethality Fueled by AI
On October 2, 2024, AFCEA Hawaii hosted a Tech Talk sponsored by Hewlett Packard Enterprise on Fort Shafter. Over 100 local industry and defense leaders gathered for this event with a heavy focus on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML). Captain Erik Pittman (COMPACFLT N6), COL AJ Johnson (USARPAC G6), CW5 Jon Stanley (USINDOPACOM J6 CTO), Dr. Andre J. Stridiron III (USINDOPACOM J7 PMTEC Program Manager), Dr. Scott Pierce (MHPCC Director), Mr. Bill Burnham (HPE CTO), and Ron Fritzemeier (INTEL) rounded out a panel of subject matter experts in attendance. They led in with a discussion on the AI/ML technology, tools and architecture needed to extract value from data, enable new capabilities, and drive digital transformation. The rapid advancements of AI as it continues to evolve present both unprecedented opportunities and risk.
Ensuring security, ethical use and resilience against adversarial AI is crucial to navigating this new frontier in warfare and national security. Our speakers expounded on this to cover research and development within the Pacific region, focusing on multi-domain operations, AI/ML opportunities supporting the fleet, and accelerating warfighter readiness within the area of responsibility. AI/ML initiatives, along with other cutting-edge tools, techniques, and products, are driving innovation and transforming capabilities across various domains enhancing operational efficiency and strategic advantage.
HPE's 2nd Annual AI/ML Tech Talk was a tremendous success! A big thank you to all the speakers, panel members, Bret Peavy (HPE) for coordination, and participants for their valuable contributions.
